Today is the day that Kiera will be playing in the big game. St Margarita Academy will be battling for the state championship title. Holy Cross Academy is the team that St Margarita will have to defeat. If St Margarita wins, Kiera and the team will be travelling to Nevada to play in the nationals. This would be a dream come true for Kiera.
Kiera has worked so hard, to be a part of a team that is on the verge of winning a state champion. Kiera practices everyday, even during the summer months. She just loves playing basketball. Her life revolves around this game.
There is only one person who is more important to Kiera and that is a girl named Geraldine. Ever since Geraldine walked into Algebra class, Kiera has been experiencing feelings she never felt before. Whenever Kiera is close to Geraldine, she has trouble breathing. When Geraldine speaks to her, she has difficulty hearing her. Kiera uses all her energy to control her feelings. She is still unsure if Geraldine is experiencing the same feelings for her.
Geraldine and Kiera spend a lot of time together. They are in the same classes and spend many hours at the library studying. Really the only time they are separated is when Kiera is at basketball practice. What is exciting for Kiera today, is not only will she be playing in the big game, Geraldine will be there cheering her and the team on.
The game has started. Kiera is one of the starting five. Both teams are evenly matched. It is a very exciting game to watch. Kiera has scored 10 points and St Margarita is up by four. The fans are cheering. Through all the screaming, Kiera can hear Geraldine calling her name. This really excites Kiera. She steals the ball and beats the other players to St Margarita’s basket. She scores two points. The cheering gets louder, but the only person Kiera hears is Geraldine.
Throughout the game the lead changes many times. Holy Cross was up by two points and there was 15 seconds remaining in the game. St Margarita has possession of the ball. Kiera’s teammate passes her the ball at the three point line. Kiera turns around and realized she has an open shot. Kiera takes the shot with 7 seconds remaining and swoosh! The ball goes through the hoop! St Margarita is up by one. The crowd goes wild! Kiera and her teammates stay focused on the game. They can’t let Holy Cross score. There are 5 seconds remaining and St Margarita’s player play the best defense possible. Finally, the final buzzer! St Margarita wins the state championship!
In all the excitement, Geraldine runs over to Kiera, hugs her and gives her the biggest kiss Kiera has ever received from anyone! The warmth that swept over her was overwhelming! Kiera grabbed Geraldine by the waist and pulled her closed to her. Kiera looked deep into Geraldine’s eyes and kissed her. Kiera never tasted anything so delicious. Geraldine’s lips were so soft and moist. Pressing up against Geraldine’s body gave Kiera a sense of oneness with her. Kiera could feel Geraldine’s desire to be with her.
As much as Kiera wanted to continue kissing Geraldine, she knew that she had to release their embrace. She did not completely let go however, she continued to hold Geraldine’s hand. As Kiera and Geraldine walked out of the gymnasium, they both knew their relationship had changed. Their was a faint smile on both their faces. They were both looking forward to the time when they would be alone together. Both had this yearning to discover one another in an intimate way.
For now they will put these feelings aside and enjoy celebrating St Margarita victory.
